Job summary

Michael Page International Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Credit Controller in Blackburn to own a high-volume portfolio and manage end-to-end credit control and collections to maximise cash flow. You will proactively pursue overdue payments by phone and email, resolve queries, and maintain strong client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires excellent communication, organisation and Excel skills, with experience in SAP B1 desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven credit control experience within a high-volume ledger environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and maximise cash collection.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and dispute-resolution skills.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive, target-driven and results-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts, managing end-to-end credit control and collections to maximise cash flow.
• Proactively pursue outstanding and overdue payments via telephone and email, resolving complex queries to reduce aged debt and meet collection targets.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams to resolve account queries and facilitate timely payments.
• Process and allocate incoming payments, ensuring ledgers reflect accurate financial positions.
• Maintain records of all credit control activity, communications, and collection actions.
• Produce and review aged debtor reports, monitor portfolio performance and identify high-risk accounts.
• Attend debtor meetings and manage escalated accounts to resolve disputes and secure payment while maintaining relationships.
• Assist Credit Control Team Leader on escalated accounts and wider projects as required.
