New College Swindon is seeking a Computing Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across Computing, IT and Digital programmes. The role is part-time (18.5 hours/week) with a permanent contract, based in Swindon.

You will plan and deliver lessons, assess students, and develop engaging resources to help learners progress. The ideal candidate will hold a Computing degree, a Level 5 teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one), and demonstrate strong knowledge in Computing and

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computing or related subject is required or equivalent industry qualifications.
  • A Level 5 teaching qualification or commitment to work towards one.
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade A–C / 9–4 or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Computing and Digital areas.
  • Ability to teach in at least two computing areas with specialist knowledge.
  • Excellent digital skills and proficiency with learning technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Computing and Digital lessons.
  • Teach across a range of Computing programmes and levels.
  • Support students to develop technical and practical skills.
  • Assess and give constructive feedback to support progress.
  • Develop learning resources and digital learning experiences.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement.
  • Maintain accurate student records and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Keep subject knowledge and professional skills up to date.
