Job summary

Local Government South East in Portsmouth is recruiting six Community Wellbeing Workers on a fixed-term, part-time basis to support residents in their local communities. Positions cover Portsea and Somerstown, Buckland, Landport, Paulsgrove and Wymering.

You will assess needs, develop tailored wellbeing plans, and support positive changes in physical activity, smoking cessation, weight management and wider health determinants.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Willingness to safeguard and promote wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs and develop tailored wellbeing plans for residents.
• Support behaviour change in areas such as physical activity, diet, smoking cessation and healthy living.
• Provide guidance and referrals to housing, debt, isolation and domestic abuse support.
• Maintain accurate records and support referral/triage processes.
• Contribute to community wellbeing events and work with partners across the city.
