Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment seeks an experienced Account Manager for a part-time position in a client-focused accountancy practice in the United Kingdom. You will manage client accounts, prepare management accounts, and ensure HMRC compliance while supporting payroll and bookkeeping.

Role requires ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, 3+ years post-qualification experience, and strong skills in Xero/QuickBooks/Sage.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in an accountancy practice.
• Experience with payroll, VAT returns, self-assessment and company accounts.
• Proficient with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar software.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple client deadlines with accuracy.
• Professional, client-focused with strong relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client accounts and maintain financial records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and reports.
• Assist with bookkeeping, reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
• Prepare VAT returns and support HMRC compliance.
• Support payroll processing and related records.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and client transactions.
• Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with senior accountants.
• Analyse financial information and identify discrepancies.
• Act as a key contact for clients on accounting queries.
• Build strong client relationships and provide routine accounting support.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and HMRC regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced systems.
