What is the job role?

We are currently looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and inspirational part-time SEN Teacher who brings a "can do" attitude and a strong desire to work with children with complex learning needs. The position is part-time with the desired working pattern would be Monday to Wednesday. The successful candidate will ideally begin with us in September 2025. Our school is expanding, and you will play a key role in supporting this growth while continuing our journey towards excellence. We aim to hire someone who will help shape the future of our school and inspire the next generation of learners.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with special needs children, particularly those with Autism, and a keen interest in demonstrating innovation and excellence in your classroom practice. We are looking for someone with high expectations for themselves and their pupils—someone who can engage and challenge students with complex needs, helping them develop a lifelong love of learning and realize their full potential. A solid understanding of Early Years principles is beneficial, as we incorporate these across all age groups within the school. You will be teaching children with complex needs, including ASD and sensory difficulties.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic part-time Teacher who demonstrates:

  • A strong vision and a passion for deepening both knowledge and practice
  • The personal skills and qualities necessary to form positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers
  • Ambition, both for themselves and for their pupils
  • Resilience and flexibility

The successful candidate will:

  • Understand the importance of safeguarding children
  • Show a commitment to continuous professional development
  • Have knowledge of current educational developments, particularly in relation to pupils with special educational needs, including Autism
  • Be experienced in planning, assessment, recording, and reporting for pupils with a broad spectrum of needs
  • Be able to work in partnership with outside agencies to meet pupils’ needs
  • Possess knowledge and practical experience of effective behaviour management strategies to manage challenging behaviour
  • Ideally have experience working in a special school setting
  • Be familiar with effective assessment and target-setting for pupils with learning difficulties
  • Hold current training in Team Teach, positive handling, or safer handling skills
