Job summary

DAC Beachcroft LLP in Bristol is seeking a part-time Claims Handler / Paralegal to support our Professional Negligence Team. You will manage a caseload of lower value professional indemnity and management liability claims under supervision, and contribute to delivering a high-quality service to insureds and their insurers.

The role offers training to independently assess liability and strategy, with exposure to litigation avoidance and ADR, while developing expertise in professional indemnity,

Qualifications

• Graduate calibre with an excellent academic record.
• Experience as a claims handler in professional indemnity is useful but not essential.
• Proficient IT literacy with Word and Excel.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team oriented with a collegiate approach to sharing knowledge.
• Confident oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of lower value claims under supervision.
• Conduct the review of new cases.
• Draft correspondence to clients.
• Maintain contact with insurer and insured professionals.
• Instruct experts and external counsel where appropriate.
• Complete administrative tasks.
• Handle confidential information in line with firm policies.
