Job summary

Classic Lodges Limited is seeking a Part Time Chef for Farington Lodge Hotel. This role covers approximately 20 hours per week across 4 days, including early mornings and evenings with some weekend shifts on a rota basis. You will assist in preparing high quality dishes, maintain hygiene standards and support a smooth running kitchen.

The successful candidate will join a friendly team and receive training where needed. The position offers competitive pay in line with experience and local rates.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience is desirable but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Good attention to detail with a commitment to consistent food quality and presentation.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
• Punctual, reliable and flexible with working hours to meet service needs.
• Awareness of basic food hygiene principles; a Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 is desirable and can be completed on site.
• Physical stamina to work on feet for periods and undertake manual tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present menu items to the standards set by the Head Chef.
• Assist with mise en place and portion control to reduce waste and maintain consistency.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, including safe storage and labelling of food.
• Support service during busy periods and work efficiently under pressure.
• Report any maintenance or stock issues to the appropriate team member.
• Collaborate with the team to develop menu suggestions and daily specials when requested.
