Job summary

York Carers Centre is seeking a Carer Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator in York. This 15-hour per week fixed-term post supports unpaid carers by enabling access to movement and activity to improve wellbeing and sustain caring roles.

The role requires empathetic communication, confidentiality, and experience with volunteers, with hybrid working and outreach venue travel. The organisation offers a friendly team, flexible working options, and opportunities for learning and development.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting people to access movement and activity.
• Ability to work confidentially and engage sensitively with carers from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience working with volunteers.
• Willingness to travel to outreach venues and work in a flexible, hybrid model.

Responsibilities

• Support carers into movement and activity to maintain wellbeing and stay connected with health.
• Engage with carers to improve access to activity opportunities and reduce health inequalities.
• Collaborate with volunteers and partner organisations to deliver activity sessions.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide empathetic, person-centred support.
