Job summary

UKCIL Ltd in Redcar is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to support a lady at home on a part-time basis. You will assist with daily living tasks, personal care, and community activities, helping the client stay independent and safe.

You’ll work flexible shifts, including full or split days, with additional hours for holidays or sickness. A compassionate, patient approach and good communication are essential; comfort with cats is required.

Qualifications

• Reliable and compassionate with a person-centred approach.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Experience with spinal injuries is advantageous.
• Comfortable around cats.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including washing and dressing.
• Assist with light domestic duties such as meal preparation, vacuuming, dusting, and general tidying and organising.
• Support the client in accessing the community—enjoying time in the garden, visiting local places, and going out for coffee.
• Help with mobility within the home; experience with hoist transfers is highly desirable.
• Offer companionship and attentive support tailored to the client’s preferences.
• Care for the client’s cat, including feeding and cleaning the litter box.
