The University of Birmingham, via Worklink, is seeking Student Content Creators to develop content for Chinese social media and university channels. This part-time role (15-20 hours/week) fits around your studies and pays £14.27 per hour with holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in writing and speaking Chinese.
• Proficient in video editing.
• Experience or interest in AI-generated tools is desirable.
• Photography skills are desirable.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Keen interest in current social media trends and content production for multiple platforms.
• Experience of copywriting, proofreading, and content editing.
• Ideally experience with graphic design packages and related technologies (e.g. Adobe).
• Strong creativity and storytelling.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to work with students and staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Create and/or present video content for the University’s official Chinese social media channels.
• Conduct interviews with students, staff, or visitors to highlight diverse campus perspectives.
• Edit videos, add Chinese subtitles, trim footage, and improve audio/visual quality for Chinese platforms.
• Brainstorm and plan content ideas that resonate with prospective students and Chinese-speaking audiences.
• Monitor trending topics, brand mentions, and competitor content on Chinese platforms; provide regular reports and insights.
• Brief in and undertake graphic design projects as required.
• Other reasonable requests within the Communications and Reputation team.
