The Gateway Primary Free School in Thurrock is seeking a Breakfast Club Assistant to join our dedicated team on a permanent, term-time basis. The role is 5 hours per week with an ASAP start and a pro rata salary based on GLC Point 10 (£25,549). Closing date 2 November 2026 (Midday).

Responsibilities include morning setup, food service, pupil supervision, activities, and handover to teachers at the start of the school day. Training in basic hygiene and first aid is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary-aged children preferred but not essential.
• Friendly, patient, approachable, and a good team player with strong communication skills.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and First Aid training desirable (training can be provided).
• Punctual start every morning is essential.

Responsabilités

• Morning Setup & Prep: Help prepare and set up dining and activity areas before children arrive.
• Food Service: Assist in preparing and serving healthy breakfast options while adhering to hygiene and dietary requirements.
• Child Supervision: Supervise pupils to ensure a safe, inclusive and positive environment.
• Activities & Engagement: Help organise and run engaging morning activities, games and crafts.
• Clean-Up & Handover: Clean, sanitise and tidy kitchen and hall; hand over children to teachers.
