Job summary

Lawrence Dean Recruitment partners with a growing accountancy practice to appoint a part-time Bookkeeper. You will prepare monthly management accounts, review P&L and cash flow, and provide insightful commentary to management and clients.

You will collaborate with the owner and clients on month-end, VAT returns, payroll, and reconciliations, maintaining accuracy and clear financial explanations. The role offers 24 hours across three days, hybrid/flexible working, and a pro rata salary of

Qualifications

• Previous Bookkeeper experience is essential, ideally gained within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA preferred, although strong relevant experience will also be considered.
• Confident preparing and interpreting management accounts and analysing budgets/forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Review and analyse P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
• Provide financial insights and commentary to management and clients
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
• Monitor cash flow and working capital
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and payroll reports
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Work closely with clients to understand their financial performance and reporting requirements
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities within financial information
• Support improvements to accounting processes, controls and reporting
