Job summary

Tate in Dorking is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join a friendly, supportive team. The role offers flexible hours (20-25 per week) with options to split across days and a pro-rata salary equivalent to £36,000–£38,000 FTE.

The successful candidate will work on bookkeeping for multiple small to medium clients and handle VAT returns, month-end and year-end tasks. Strong knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks and Excel is essential, and a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle is required.

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of small to medium-sized businesses and sole traders
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Preparing end-of-month and year-end accounts
• Bank reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting clients with day-to-day finance queries
• Liaising with accountants and clients where required
