Job summary

David Game College in London is seeking a committed part-time Biology Teacher to complement our qualified staff. You will prepare and deliver engaging biology lessons, adapt materials for diverse learners and maintain a positive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for biology, builds rapport with students and organizes classes effectively to support learning and personal development. This role offers term-time hours up to 10 per week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a teacher (Essential)
• Thorough knowledge of teaching practices and educational guidelines (Essential)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
• Well-organized and committed (Essential)
• Creative and energetic (Essential)
• Formal teacher training and credentials are desirable (Desirable)
• Professional memberships are desirable (Desirable)
• QTLS/QTS/ATS or Chartered Teacher Status is desirable (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Teach lessons using comprehensive methods and visual/audio aids
• Provide individualized instruction promoting interactive learning
• Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments)
• Assess and record progress and provide grades/feedback
• Maintain a tidy, orderly classroom
• Collaborate with Senior teachers, Administrators and other stakeholders
• Plan and run in-class educational events
• Observe student behaviour and report concerns
• Develop professional skills by attending seminars and conferences
• Maintain teaching/learning documentation

Education

Degree in chosen field of study

Formal teacher training (AET, DET, PGCE)

Membership of education society

QTLS / QTS / ATS or Chartered Teacher Status
