Job description

Common Ground is a much-loved, busy independent café in Stroud Green, known for exceptional coffee, a globally inspired menu, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We care about quality, sustainability, and creating a place where both our team and customers feel at home.

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced part-time barista to join our close-knit FOH team. This role is ideal for someone confident on the coffee machine, calm under pressure, and looking to work 2–3 shifts per week, including weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Making consistently excellent coffee during busy service
2. Working closely with the FOH and kitchen team to keep service smooth and friendly
3. Taking customer orders, running food and drinks, and helping keep the café clean and welcoming
4. Jumping in wherever needed whether on the floor or to help with end of day cleaning and close down tasks — we’re a team that supports each other

What We’re Looking For:

1. At least 2 years of barista experience in a fast-paced café
2. Strong technical skills — dialling in, latte art, and troubleshooting
3. Speed and consistency under pressure
4. Friendly and professional with customers and colleagues
5. Able to work weekend shifts (this is essential)
6. A team player who brings good energy and is happy to get stuck in
