Job summary

Harbour Healthcare are recruiting for an Activities Coordinator at Woodlands Care Home in Westhoughton. The role involves organising engaging activities for residents, including those living with dementia, and ensuring sessions run smoothly with a friendly, supportive team.

You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good organisation, and the ability to motivate residents to participate. On-site hours include 18 per week with day shifts.

• Be experienced in working with residents living with dementia.
• Have a genuine interest in our residents.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively as part of the Activities Team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organising and coordinating activities for individuals and groups.
• Arrange themed events based on local holidays and traditions.
• Book external suppliers to provide entertainment.
• Organise trips into the local community, considering transport and accessibility.
• Contribute to planning a varied activity programme to improve residents’ quality of life.
• Maintain written records of resident participation.
• Maintain a portfolio of information on activities available in the Home and community.
• Participate in fundraising events as required.
