Job summary

Pave Aways in Knockin near Oswestry is seeking an Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover – 6–9 months) to support the day‑to‑day purchase ledger operations, including processing supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments. The role is 3 days a week, 9am–3pm, with start date on 4th September 2026.

The role requires accuracy, strong organisational skills and the ability to work with the finance team and wider business to maintain records in line with procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a similar role.
• Experience with supplier invoices and purchase ledger processes.
• Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts and MS Office.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

• Posting and generating payments to suppliers
• Reconciling statements against supplier invoices posted onto Sage – requesting any missing invoices
• Dealing with any query invoices
• Sending invoices to relevant Site Managers and Buyers for approval
• Preparing and processing the weekly supplier payment run
• Setting up new suppliers on Sage
• Completing credit application forms
• Remittances
• Matching delivery tickets to invoices
• Monitoring Accounts emails and actioning as required
