Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment is seeking an experienced accounts assistant for a part‑time role in Ramsgate, Kent. You will prepare draft accounts, support client accounting needs, and work with a small, friendly practice team. This hands‑on role offers progression and flexible development opportunities within the firm.

The position is office‑based, 3 days per week (9am–4pm) with potential to increase to 4 days. AAT Level 4 or equivalent experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing draft accounts from a trial balance.
• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• AAT Level 4 or higher is advantageous.
• Understanding balance sheets, P&L, share capital and dividends.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Confident dealing directly with clients.
• Willing to continue developing accountancy qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare draft accounts from trial balances.
• Support clients with day‑to‑day accounting needs.
• Work with balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Maintain accurate working papers and client records.
• Respond to client queries by phone, email and in person.
• Work directly with a portfolio of clients.
• Support with bookkeeping and general accounting duties.
• Manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Assist with additional accounting duties as required.
