Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Core Subject Tutor to support learners in the NE65 area of Northumberland. The role focuses on 1:1 tuition during school hours, covering English, Maths and Science to boost understanding and confidence.

You will tailor lessons to individual needs and track progress with families and school staff. This part-time, weekday role offers £25–£30 per hour, with DBS checks and UK teaching experience required.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience within the UK.
Experience teaching or tutoring core subjects.
Strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
Ability to deliver personalised and differentiated learning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions in core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.
Assess learners' abilities and create personalised learning plans.
Plan and adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning styles.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
Build positive and supportive relationships with students, families, and relevant professionals.
Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independent learning.
