Job summary

Recruitment Solutions (NW) Ltd in Manchester city centre is expanding its finance team. We are seeking a PQ Management Accountant to lead monthly management accounts and reporting, with ACCA/CIMA/ACA study support and a pathway to Finance Manager.

You will prepare journals, reconcile ledgers, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and KPI analyses, collaborating with non-finance colleagues across site. Excellent Excel skills and proactive problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified and/or actively studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Previous experience in a management accounts or assistant accountant role.
• Comfortable preparing journals, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.
• Commercially minded, organised and able to communicate with non-finance colleagues.
• Proactive approach, with the ambition to progress within a finance function.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including accruals, prepayments and journals.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting.
• Produce monthly KPI and variance analysis for operational stakeholders.
• Assist with year-end audit and statutory accounting requirements.
• Support payroll, purchase ledger and sales ledger queries as needed.
• Maintain strong financial controls and identify process improvements.
• Act as a finance contact for colleagues across the wider site.

We are pleased to be working with a long standing client of ours based in the heart of Manchester City Centre. They are an omnichannel retail business, they are looking to expand their finance team through continued growth, they are looking for someone who has desired to grown in role and further develop their skill-set in a business operating across complex finance.

PQ Management Accountant – Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments and journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of any discrepancies
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
• Producing monthly KPI and variance analysis for operational stakeholders
• Assisting with year-end audit and statutory accounting requirements
• Supporting payroll, purchase ledger and sales ledger queries where required

• Salary of £40,000
