Job summary

ACCA Careers in Manchester is seeking a Management Accountant to oversee month-end close, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. You'll work with budget holders and senior stakeholders to provide accurate, timely information and support informed decision-making.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, support month-end and year-end processes, produce budgets and forecasts, and deliver insightful commentary on variances, helping shape commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience owning full month-end close.
• Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred.
• Ability to analyse financial data and present insights.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
• Organised and able to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Client Details

As Management Accountant, you'll take responsibility for a range of management accounting activities overseeing month end close, including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. You'll work closely with budget holders and senior stakeholders to provide accurate, timely information and support informed decision-making.

• Preparing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Producing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
• Investigating financial variances and providing meaningful commentary
• Working closely with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders
• Providing financial insight to support commercial and operational decisions
• Monitoring costs, revenue and overall business performance
• Assisting with cash flow reporting and financial planning
• Improving financial processes, controls and reporting
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc analysis and projects

Profile

A Successful Management Accountant Will Have

• Experienced in a management accounting role, previously having ownership of full month end close
• Ideally part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Confident preparing management accounts and analysing financial data
• Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues
• Proficient in Excel and confident working with financial systems
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
• Keen to develop and make a genuine contribution to the wider business
