Job summary

Curtis Recruitment Limited in Oxford is seeking a Part Qualified Accountant for a UK accountancy practice. You should be part qualified ACCA/ACA, AAT, or qualified by experience with solid tax and accounts exposure.

You will handle statutory and management accounts, tax compliance, and company secretarial work, with scope to grow your client portfolio. 30 days leave, pension, flexible working after probation, and on-site parking are offered.

Job description

We are seeking a Part Qualified Accountant on behalf of a successful, independent firm of accountants in Oxford. The ideal candidate will be part qualified ACCA/ACA, qualified AAT or an exceptional qualified by experience person. You will have significant experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.

This friendly firm will offer the Part Qualified Accountant a competitive salary, 30 days annual leave excluding bank holidays and Christmas office closure, pension, flexible working after probation, pension and free on-site parking.

As Part Qualified Accountant your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation / reviewing - statutory accounts, management accounts, corporation tax, VAT and personal tax
• Dealing with all company secretarial for clients
• Setting up limited companies
• Completing directors’ only payroll
• As experience grows, you will manage your own client portfolio and take on further responsibilities

• Part qualified ACCA/ACA, AAT qualified or qualified by experience
• Have at least three years’ accounts and tax experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
• Sound judgement and initiative to find solutions and make decisions under pressure
• Ability to self-manage and self-motivate
• Work well with others and be able to offer team support
• Good general IT skills and good working knowledge of accounting software
• Excellent communication skills
