Job summary

M&G plc in Stirling and Edinburgh is seeking a newly qualified actuary to join the Liabilities Valuation team. The role focuses on valuing M&G Life and pensions liabilities, including annuities, with-profits and unit-linked products, under UK GAAP and IFRS 17.

You will work with colleagues across Finance and Risk to deliver timely financial reporting and support change projects, building expertise in yield calculations and stakeholder communication.

• Excellent technical actuarial knowledge with attention to detail.

• Commercial aptitude and ability to consider business impact.
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support work on the Liabilities Valuation team for life and pensions products.
• Develop understanding of product features, liabilities and sensitivities to key risk drivers.
• Document, explain and present results to stakeholders with clear controls.
• Assist in regulatory financial reporting under UKGAAP, IFRS 17 and Solvency II deadlines.
• Provide technical expertise to design solutions within change projects.
