Job summary

DFDS is seeking a Commercial Business Development Manager – Part Loads to drive growth for Part Load and Groupage services across the UK and Nordic regions, with a focus on UK export traffic. The role requires extensive UK travel for customer visits, networking, and on-site development activities as part of the Commercial team.

Key responsibilities include developing a sales strategy, securing new business, promoting consolidation solutions, and managing forecasts and CRM data in collaboration

Qualifications

• You’ll have experience in business development, sales, freight forwarding, logistics, or transport services and a strong understanding of Part Load, Groupage, or consolidated freight solutions.
• You'll be commercially focused with excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills, able to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
• Knowledge of Nordic freight markets, customs procedures, or multimodal logistics would be highly beneficial.
• A full UK driving licence is essential, as regular travel throughout the UK forms a key part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing a sales strategy for Part Load and Groupage services.
• Identifying and securing new business opportunities across the UK market.
• Promoting consolidation and groupage solutions to customers.
• Building strong relationships with key decision-makers and procurement teams.
• Preparing proposals, quotations, and pricing recommendations.
• Managing forecasts, pipeline activity, and CRM reporting.
• Working collaboratively with operations and account management teams to maximise customer value.
