Job summary

Salisbury City Council is seeking a Parks & Grounds Officer to join the grounds team in Salisbury. The role focuses on keeping parks and green spaces attractive for residents and visitors, including seasonal rota duties and outdoor tasks.

Applicants should be physically fit, able to work in all weather, and hold a full driving licence. Salary is £28,608–£29,542 per year, with 37 hours per week and a closing date of 12 November 2026.

Location: Salisbury

Person specification

• Able to work outdoors, in all weathers
• Keen team player
• Interested in all aspects of grounds maintenance
• Committed in supporting the community and residents of Salisbury
• Physically able to carry out manual tasks, including: mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, planting, sports pitch marking, gardening.
• Dependable and a good time keeper
• Demonstrates a professional and polite attitude
• Able to use own initiative and follow risk assessments
