Job summary

North Yorkshire Council in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, is seeking a Parks and Grounds Maintenance Operative on a permanent, full-time basis. The role covers Scarborough, Whitby and Filey, performing maintenance of parks, forests, and recreational spaces with grass cutting and cleansing duties.

The position offers training, a 4-day week with 42 summer hours and 32 winter hours, and relocation/driver considerations. Excellent benefits and a supportive team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working in outdoor environments is preferred but not essential.
• Full training will be provided.
• Driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-quality open spaces including parks, forest, play areas and recreational spaces across Scarborough and Whitby.
• Perform general grounds maintenance such as grass cutting and cleansing duties.
• Based at the local Depot or satellite sites; working with established teams to deliver a high standard of service.
• Work 42 hours in summer and 32 hours in winter over a 4-day week; annualised hours.
