Applefields School is inviting applications for a permanent Parks and Grounds Maintenance Operative to help keep Scarborough, Whitby and Filey open spaces welcoming for residents, businesses and visitors. You will work outdoors, performing grass cutting and cleansing tasks across parks, forests and recreation areas.

Based at the local Depot or satellite sites, you will receive PPE and training. This full-time, annualised role operates 42 hours in summer and 32 hours in winter over a 4‑day week,

We have an exciting opportunity to join our vital service on a permanent basis, working as a Parks and Grounds Maintenance Operative ensuring all areas of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey are kept clean and welcoming for its residents, businesses, and visitors to appreciate. The role

As our Parks and Grounds Maintenance Operative you will be responsible for maintaining our high-quality open spaces including parks, forest, play areas and recreational spaces across Scarborough and Whitby, this will be by undertaking general grounds maintenance including grass cutting and cleansing duties.

You will be based at the local Depot and/or other satellite sites across the area. We will also supply you with all PPE and training as required.

This is a permanent role, working full time with annualised hours, working 42 hours during summer (6 months) and 32 hours during winter (6 months), over a 4-day week.

You will be working with skilful established teams who are proud to deliver a high standard service across the area.

What you will bring

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience working in an outdoor environment, but this is not essential as full training will be provided. A Driving licence is preferred but not essential.
