Job summary

Jobsgopublic Limited seeks a Skilled Operative (Tractor Operator) to join the Greenspaces team at Earlswood Depot and across the borough. You will operate tractors and mowing equipment to maintain parks and open spaces.

Permanent, full-time with annualised hours (40hrs summer, 27hrs winter). A full UK driving licence is required and you must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience operating tractors and grounds maintenance machinery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of health and safety and safe working practices.
• Be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and attached equipment (e.g., aerators, scarifiers, trailers, gang mowers) for parks and open spaces.
• Carry out daily/weekly machinery checks and report faults or service needs.
• Liaise with team leader to adjust cutting schedule for events.
• Work flexibly as part of a team or individually to respond to changing priorities and weather conditions.
• Carry out hedge maintenance, pruning, planting and de-weeding flower beds.
• Perform general grounds maintenance tasks.
