Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a part-time Clinical Nurse Specialist in Parkinson's Disease at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth. The post covers community and acute care, with 22.5 hours weekly pro rata, Band 6.

The role requires autonomous decision-making, advanced clinical skills, and leadership to support patients, carers and colleagues across multiple sites. Welsh language skills are welcomed, with bilingual awareness throughout the service.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Part 1) with current NMC registration.
• Advanced clinical skills and knowledge in Parkinson's care.
• Experience in a multi-professional environment.
• Experience mentoring preregistration nursing/midwifery students.
• Experience of undertaking audits and participating in research.

Responsibilities

• Practice autonomously, demonstrating problem solving and clinical decision making.
• Assess, manage, deliver and coordinate patient care plans using resources effectively.
• Undertake investigations and interpret results within your competence.
• Apply advanced skills and knowledge relevant to the specialty.
• Provide specialist clinical knowledge to colleagues, patients and carers.
• Support development of a learning organisation and alert managers to resource issues.
