Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Parking Engineer on a contract basis in the City of London area. The role involves desktop surveys, site visits, and creating drawings for parking and traffic improvements aligned with a resurfacing programme.

You will work with boroughs and contractors, ensuring compliance with TMOs and related legislation while coordinating with the resurfacing team to meet milestones and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience in parking, traffic and CPZ (Controlled Parking Zones).
• Proficiency in desktop surveys and site visits.
• Ability to incorporate survey data into project plans.
• Understanding of traffic engineering standards and relevant legislation.
• Strong documentation skills including producing clear drawings and survey reports.
• Excellent communication for liaising with stakeholders and coordinating with contractors.
• Experience in managing project timelines, resources and milestones.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial desktop surveys and site visits for junction locations per resurfacing programme.
• Incorporate survey data, propose DYL markings, relocate street furniture and adjust parking/loading.
• Identify constraints or opportunities affecting proposed amendments, including visibility and infrastructure.
• Assess impact on waiting and loading restrictions per TMOs.
• Document survey findings with photographs, notes, and sketches.
• Produce accurate and clear drawings for each junction in the agreed format.
• Ensure drawings comply with current traffic engineering standards and borough policies.
• Coordinate with resurfacing team to align with the programme of works.

Parking Engineer

Our client is currently looking for a Parking Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to improve traffic and parking aligned with a significant resurfacing programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial desktop surveys and site visits for junction locations according to the resurfacing programme
• Incorporate survey data, propose DYL markings, relocate street furniture where necessary, and adjust parking/loading arrangements
• Identify constraints or opportunities affecting proposed amendments, including visibility and existing infrastructure
• Assess the impact of proposed changes on waiting and loading restrictions per Traffic Management Orders (TMOs)
• Document survey findings with photographs, notes, and sketches for reference
• Produce accurate and clear drawings for each junction, adhering to the agreed standard drawing format
• Ensure drawings comply with current traffic engineering standards, borough policies, and relevant legislation
• Coordinate with the resurfacing team to align with the programme of works
