Job summary

Angard Staffing is recruiting flexible Warehouse Operatives to join Parcelforce. You will be part of a fast-paced parcel journey, loading/unloading, moving goods, and operating sorting equipment across shifts. Prior experience isn’t required, but reliability and teamwork are essential.

Roles are temporary with defined shift patterns; day and night pay rates apply, including higher rates for bank holidays. Training is provided, and safety standards are followed in all activities.

• No previous experience required (beneficial).
• Able to lift up to 30kg and push loads up to 250kg with assistance.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parcels from trailers.
• Move parcels through the warehouse safely and efficiently.
• Operate mechanised parcel sorting equipment.
• Sort up to 40,000 items with the team per shift.
• Ensure parcels reach destination on time and handle items with care.
• Follow Royal Mail standards for items including food or alcohol.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll be a key part of the parcel journey:

• Loading and unloading parcels from trailers
• Moving parcels through the warehouse safely and efficiently
• Operating mechanised parcel sorting equipment
• Sorting up to 40,000 items with your team during a single shift
• Ensuring every parcel – big or small – is handled with care and reaches its destination on time
• You’re expected to securely handle all items in the warehouse, including handling certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail standards.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds – no previous experience is required, but it’s a bonus if you’ve worked in similar environments.

Our ideal candidate:

• Is flexible and comfortable switching between tasks
• Can lift parcels up to 30kg and push loads up to 250kg (with assistance for heavier items)
• Is physically fit and able to manage long shifts on their feet
• Is motivated, reliable, and ready to work as part of a team

Tuesday/Wednesday 06:00 – 17:00

Sunday 10:00 – 17:00

The tables below outline the pay rates applicable for warehouse roles at our Parcelforce sites. The rates displayed are payable for your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

0-26 Weeks service – Shift description and pay rate:

Shift: Mon – Sat Days - Shift Description: Hours worked between 06:00 – 19:00 = Pay Rate: £13.17

Shift: Mon – Sat Nights - Shift Description: Hours worked between 19:00 – 06:00 = Pay Rate: £15.91

Shift: Bank Holiday - Shift Description: All Day = Pay Rate: £26.81
