Job description

Company Description

Four Pillars Financial Planning is an independent financial planning firm that focuses on each client’s unique financial journey, shaped by individual circumstances, needs, and aspirations. The team is dedicated to turning client objectives into reality through thoughtful, strategic life planning. As independent planners, their professional responsibility is solely to clients, rather than to any investment manager or product provider. This impartiality is central to the firm’s ethos of placing client needs at the heart of every recommendation. The company’s client service charter, available on its website, further outlines its commitment to transparency, integrity, and high-quality service.

Role Description

The Paraplanner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Salisbury. The Paraplanner will support financial planners by gathering and analyzing client information, preparing cash flow models, and assisting with the development of holistic financial plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting suitability reports and recommendations, preparing meeting packs and documentation, and maintaining accurate client records and compliance files. The role also involves liaising with product providers for information, processing policy applications, and updating internal systems to ensure timely and accurate administration. The Paraplanner will collaborate closely with advisers and the wider team to ensure a seamless client experience and consistent delivery of high-quality, impartial advice.

Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, cash flow projections, and investment reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, client-friendly reports and documentation.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured way.
  • Proficiency with office productivity software and financial planning tools or CRM systems, and willingness to learn new systems as needed.
  • Understanding of financial planning concepts, investments, pensions, protection, and taxation, or a strong interest in developing this knowledge.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or progress toward them (e.g., diploma-level financial planning or equivalent) would be beneficial.
  • Commitment to ethical, client-centered service, with the ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment.
  • Prior experience in a paraplanning, financial planning, or related support role within financial services is an advantage but not strictly required.
