Job summary

Authority is seeking a UK-based independent consultant with direct parametric insurance experience to advise on product design, trigger structures, data sources, pricing, basis risk, capacity and distribution. Remote within the UK, the engagement is a flexible, 2–4 paid consulting hours per month.

The advisor will provide practical guidance on identifying suitable risks and regulatory considerations, and help shape Authority's insurance offerings for business customers.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of insurance experience.
• Currently operating in or closely involved with the UK insurance market.
• Up-to-date knowledge of local customers, regulation and market conditions.
• Firsthand experience with insurance product, underwriting, claims, brokerage or distribution decisions.
• A valid LinkedIn profile showing relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise on commercial use cases for parametric insurance.
• Design trigger and payout structures.
• Assess data quality, independence and verification.
• Evaluate basis risk and customer suitability.
• Provide guidance on underwriting and pricing considerations.
• Advise on capacity, reinsurance and risk transfer.
• Review policy wording, regulation and customer communication.
• Support distribution through brokers, MGAs, carriers and tech platforms.
• Cover parametric products across operational, supply-chain, cyber, energy or other measurable risks.

Authority is developing insurance-focused products, intelligence and advisory offerings for businesses. We are looking for a professional who is currently active in the United Kingdom and has direct parametric insurance experience to advise us as we develop and evaluate these offerings.

You will provide practical guidance on suitable risks, trigger design, data sources, pricing, basis risk, capacity, distribution and customer adoption.
