Job summary

The University of Plymouth invites applications for a Lecturer in Paramedic Science on a fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave. You will contribute to teaching, learning and research within Paramedic Sciences and support undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

You will be HCPC registered with clinical or academic experience, delivering evidence‑based teaching while collaborating with clinical partners and contributing to interprofessional learning.

Qualifications

• Registered Paramedic with clinical and/or academic experience.
• Strong understanding of contemporary Paramedic practice and evolving roles in healthcare.
• Commitment to high‑quality education and ongoing professional development.
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills for academic environments.
• Maintenance of HCPC registration (or relevant equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate Paramedic programmes.
• Provide academic guidance, feedback and pastoral support to students.
• Contribute to curriculum design, assessment and programme quality assurance.
• Engage in research, scholarship or professional practice that enhances teaching.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clinical partners to support interprofessional learning.
