Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is hiring a Functional Assessor (Registered Paramedic/NMC or HCPC registered) for a hybrid role in Sunderland. You will assess and document how health conditions affect daily living, focusing on clinical reasoning, analysis and detailed reports.

The role offers a starting salary of £42,000 rising to £46,000 after accreditation and minimum site attendance, with annual reviews and potential bonuses. Structured training and long-term development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC registered Pro/Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
• Active UK registration with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year UK clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident with digital systems and 35 WPM typing speed.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles.
• Ability to produce high‑quality written clinical reports.

Are you an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise?

As a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor at Medacs Healthcare, you'll complete Personal Independence Payment (PIP) functional assessments to understand how health conditions affect everyday life. This is a non-hands-on clinical role centred on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing.

The hybrid working model combines home working with time at one of our assessment centres, offering predictable hours, long-term stability and a healthier work-life balance.

*We offer a starting salary of

£42,000, which will increase to

£46,000 at 12 months once fully accredited and working from a site a minimum of 3 days per week. Annual salary reviews thereafter, performance related incentives and overtime also available.
