Job summary

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a qualified Paramedic to join our emergency response teams. You will deliver life-saving care, assess patients in urgent scenarios, and transport to hospital or care facilities as needed.

The role requires completion of a two-year consolidation programme, participation in professional discussions and OSCE, and flexibility to respond to major incidents and NHS 111 duties.

• Two-year consolidation learning programme in an ambulance trust after qualification.

• Deliver non-emergency patient transport when required.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Evidence of completion of a two year consolidation of learning programme in a ambulance trust, if appointed on/after 1st September 2016 We will aim to -

• Close the advert on 10.11.2027 (depending on numbers, advert might close earlier).
• Complete professional discussion & OSCE (Date TBC)
• Sector Allocation preferences will be requested after professional discussion. Once Allocated Sector and Station, changes cannot be made.
• You will need to be available to start your Induction from January 2027
• Provide a 6 week full time training course (2 week clinical, 4 week emergency driving) on commencement of the role.
