Role

Forbes Solicitors LLP is seeking an experienced Motor Claims Paralegal to join our Insurance (Motor Claims) team based in Manchester. This full-time role offers 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

This is a great opportunity for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal eager to advance their career within our award-winning Insurance team. The role combines a fast-paced, client-focused environment with a sustainable work-life balance and regional relevance.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of defendant insurance motor claims, including small claims and fast track RTAs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Advisors with chargeable legal work to ensure service delivery (e.g., evidence collection, witness statements, court preparation, legal bundle collation).
  • Managing daily case progress, prioritizing tasks, monitoring deadlines, and keeping clients informed.
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents based on analysis of gathered information.
  • Providing legal advice under supervision to resolve queries and progress cases.
  • Assessing client queries and managing case files accordingly.
  • Attending external meetings, hearings, court appearances, and networking events.
  • Updating systems with client and case information.
  • Conducting legal research and producing articles/reports for publication.
  • Maintaining communication with clients and stakeholders, managing expectations, and escalating issues as needed.

The Person

Applicants will be evaluated based on:

  • CILEX qualification/Law Degree or equivalent;
  • Experience with motor claims, small claims, or fast track RTAs;
  • Alignment with the firm’s values;
  • Attention to detail, prioritization skills, teamwork, commercial awareness;
  • IT proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and case management systems;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Interest in long-term development;
  • LPC/SQE qualification and experience defending insurance claims are desirable.
