Our Team

There is an exciting opportunity in our Public Law and Human Rights team in Newcastle, working primarily within education law. The team assists private clients with appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, Education Health and Care Plans, and liaising with local authorities. The work includes collaboration with schools and colleges, as well as some legal aid work. Our department is recognized as a leader in the field, ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, handling high-profile and cutting-edge cases across ten offices nationally.

About You

This role is suitable for a motivated individual interested in Public Law & Human Rights. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Be willing to travel to the Newcastle office twice a week.
  • Have some experience in paralegal work or public law, especially in education or related areas.
  • Possess excellent client care skills and a sympathetic understanding of clients' needs.
  • Have strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to documentation.
  • Be IT literate and detail-oriented.
  • Be capable of working independently and as part of a team to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Knowledge of legal aid systems is desirable but not essential.
