The successful candidate will join a team known for its commercial acumen and sector expertise, advising a diverse portfolio of clients across industries such as manufacturing, gaming, IT, medtech, leisure, retail, construction, and healthcare. The role involves working with both public and private sector clients — from SMEs to multinational organisations — on a full range of commercial arrangements.

The Role

The position involves high-quality, varied commercial work including:

  1. Drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts including terms and conditions, supply and service agreements, software and IP licences, confidentiality agreements, franchising and agency agreements, and consultancy contracts.
  2. Advising on operational contracts and strategic partnerships, including joint ventures and collaborative arrangements.
  3. Supporting suppliers and contracting authorities on public procurement matters.
  4. Advising on high-value, complex, and multiparty contracts such as PPP, BSF, and PFI projects.
  5. Providing commercially focused legal advice on data protection, grant agreements, and regulatory compliance.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys handling intellectually challenging work while building strong, lasting client relationships.

The Candidate

The firm is looking to speak with solicitors who can demonstrate:

  1. Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales, ideally with 4+ years’ PQE (though candidates outside this range with relevant experience will be considered).
  2. A solid background in commercial contract law.
  3. Experience advising clients across a range of sectors, including regulated industries or public sector work.
  4. Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  5. A commercial, solutions-focused approach and an ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
The Firm

This Legal 500-ranked firm is known for its forward-thinking culture, commitment to professional development, and long-standing client relationships. They offer:

  1. High-quality work with excellent clients.
  2. A supportive and inclusive team environment.
  3. Genuine opportunities for career progression.
