Job summary
Jobtailor seeks a compliant legal support professional to assist Lawyers within Adult Social Care, Education and Employment teams, focusing on Education law. You will advise schools and educational settings under service level agreements, perform legal research, and prepare documentation.
You will draft routine correspondence and summaries under supervision, and contribute to a high-quality, customer-focused legal service for council stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Legal qualifications or in progress (Degree, LPC or Ilex).
- Experience in a legal environment is preferred.
- Experience supporting Lawyers in a legal practice or in-house service.
- Knowledge of Employment or Education Law is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and administrative support to Lawyers in Adult Social Care, Education and Employment teams.
- Support schools and educational settings with legal advice under SLAs.
- Undertake legal research to inform our education law work.
- Prepare documentation and draft routine legal correspondence under supervision.
- Deliver high-quality, customer-focused legal services to schools, settings and council stakeholders.

- Provide legal and administrative support to Lawyers within Adult Social Care, Education and Employment Teams, primarily focusing on Education law matters
- Support legal advice and assistance to schools and educational settings in accordance with agreed service level agreements
- Undertake legal research
- Prepare documentation
- Draft routine correspondence, reports and legal advice under appropriate supervision
- Provide a high-quality, customer-focused legal service to schools, educational settings and council stakeholders
- Further-level legal qualification (e.g. Degree, LPC or Ilex) ideally, or working towards
- Previous experience of working within a legal environment
- Experience of working within a team supporting Lawyers in either a legal practice or an in-house legal service
- Previous knowledge or experience within Employment or Education Law highly desirable
- Previous experience within a Local Authority environment highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to explain legal and procedural issues to non-legal audiences
- Strong analytical and legal research skills
- Ability to work 37 hours per week
- Fixed-term availability for 18 months
Demonstrates expertise in providing legal and administrative support within Adult Social Care, Education, and Employment law, with a focus on delivering high-quality legal services to educational settings and stakeholders. Proficient in legal research, documentation preparation, and effective communication with diverse audiences.
