Job summary

DWF is seeking an experienced Motor Volume – Injury Litigation professional to join our Liverpool team. You will handle defendant motor/personal injury cases from instruction through to settlement, aligning with client SLAs and using case management systems.

The role is hybrid with office presence required in Liverpool two days a week (Mondays and Thursdays). You’ll work with insurers and a blue‑chip client base, gaining exposure to a range of matters from fast track to more complex issues.

Qualifications

• Experience handling litigated defendant Motor/Personal Injury caseload.
• Knowledge of Part 7 Fast Track, OIC or MOJ processes desirable.
• Proficiency with case management systems and reporting to clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proactively managing and progressing a litigated motor defendant insurance caseload.
• Apply technical principles to drive proactive settlement of cases.
• Ensure files meet client SLAs and maintain clear documentation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in Motor/Personal Injury Insurance, who is looking to contribute their existing skillset in a well‑established team.

The team advises on and defends litigated Road Traffic Accident (RTA) claims for a range of insurer clients, including issuing counterclaims where appropriate. They manage personal injury matters across Part 7 Fast Track, OIC and MOJ processes, with claim values typically ranging from £1,000 to £25,000.

You can expect to receive exposure to a variety of matters, from minor injury accidents to more complex accidents and procedural issues. Working with established clients and building rapport with their customers.

The role is hybrid, with office attendance required in Liverpool 2 days per week (the office days are Monday and Thursday).

Responsibilities

• To assist in proactively managing & progressing a litigated caseload of Motor Defendant Insurance cases from instruction through to conclusion.
• To appropriately apply the specific technical principles needed to drive the proactive settlement of the case.
• Have knowledge of and work cases in line with all client SLAs for the files within your responsibility.
• Proactive use of case management systems to improve speed of settlement and adding value to the cases, whilst adhering to client requirements.
• Prioritise and organise your work efficiently and effectively to ensure all tasks are completed to specified deadlines.
• Review and gather medical reports and records for injury claims where appropriate.

What will help you succeed in this role?

• Experience of handling/assisting on a litigated, defendant Motor/Personal Injury caseload, including demonstrable knowledge of Part 7 Fast Track, OIC or MOJ.
• The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and to be able to carefully analyse files and data.
• The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Business acumen and an understanding of the clients' needs.
• Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office.

Desirable

• Previous experience of working with Visual Files case management system.
