York Solicitors, based in Ilford, seeks a Paralegal to support immigration, conveyancing, and other practice areas. You will conduct legal research, draft documents, and prepare applications and bundles under supervision, helping progress property transactions and manage case files and deadlines.

The role requires an LLB or SQE1, at least one year in immigration law and conveyancing, fluent English, and knowledge of relevant rules.

Qualifications

• An LLB degree or successful completion of SQE1.
• At least one year's practical experience in immigration law and conveyancing within a UK law firm.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Fluency in at least two South Asian languages (Tamil, Hindi, Urdu or Sinhalese; Tamil and Sinhalese preferred).
• Good working knowledge of the Immigration Rules, Civil Procedure Rules and Family Procedure Rules.
• Strong legal research, drafting and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills and experience using legal case management systems.
• Ability to work independently under supervision and manage multiple matters efficiently.

Responsabilités

• Immigration law: experience preparing and submitting immigration applications, including Skilled Worker visas, spouse and family visas, ILR, naturalisation, asylum and human rights applications, appeals and administrative reviews.
• Asylum and Human Rights: experience preparing asylum claims, witness statements, legal representations, appeal bundles and supporting evidence.
• Family law: assisting with divorce applications, financial remedy matters, child arrangements and other family law proceedings.
• Civil litigation: drafting legal correspondence, court applications, witness statements and preparing court bundles.
• Conveyancing: handling residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including property purchases and sales, reviewing title documents, raising enquiries, preparing reports on title, SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.
• Case management: ability to manage client files, prepare legal documents, communicate with clients and meet deadlines.
