Job Description:

Our team in the Public Law and Human Rights department is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to work mainly within Education and Court of Protection areas. The team handles cases involving appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, judicial reviews, school exclusions, and safeguarding issues, working with schools and colleges. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, reviewing client records, liaising with stakeholders, and assisting with legal aid applications.

In Court of Protection work, the focus is on health and welfare applications for adults and young people transitioning into adulthood, including cases involving deprivation of liberty. Tasks involve reviewing evidence, visiting clients, attending court, and drafting documents.

The department is highly ranked nationally and handles high-profile cases, with a reputation for pioneering work on test cases across ten offices nationwide.

About You:

We seek a motivated individual with a genuine interest in Public Law & Human Rights, holding an undergraduate degree or equivalent, with some experience in public law or paralegal work. Excellent client care, analytical, organizational, and IT skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and in a team. Knowledge of legal aid systems is advantageous.
