Qualifications

  • Providing legal and administrative support to the Construction Unit team.
  • Conduct basic legal research to assist with ongoing matters.
  • Attend meetings and take accurate notes to produce minutes.

Job description

Davies and Partners Solicitors is a well-established law firm with over 30 years experience. It has a national reputation for excellence in the Property sector and strength in depth in a wide selection of other legal services for businesses & individuals. There are 5 offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Devon and Gloucester.

Job Purpose

To work alongside the Construction Unit team (currently 2 solicitors) in providing a full and efficient service, exercising confidentiality and high standards of client care at all times.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Providing legal and administrative support to the department.

Perform general administrative duties, including photocopying, scanning, touch typing, and dictation transcription.

Demonstrate clear and professional communication skills over the telephone and in written correspondence.

Attend meetings (in-person and via Teams), taking accurate notes and producing minutes.

Support fee earners with their caseloads, helping to maintain high standards of client service.

Conduct basic legal research to assist with ongoing matters.

Supporting departmental and firm-wide events, including marketing and networking. functions.

Education / Qualifications

Minimum Score 5 or above (Grade C) GCSEs in English and Maths

Recognised academic qualification (degree standard or comparable) with preference given to law qualification

Skills/Knowledge

Relevant experience working as a Paralegal in a fast-paced office environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Fast and accurate typing

Self-organised and proactive

Strong attention to detail

Legible handwriting and competency in creating and maintaining accurate notes and documents.

Ability to maintain client confidentiality

Adaptable to the needs of the business as changes occur during the operational requirements

Competence in the effective use of Information and Communications Technologies (lCT).

The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Knowledge and experience of working within the legal sector.

This role meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This role will require applicants who are offered employment to be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed. This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions.

Working Hours: Part-time 22.5 hours per week, worked over 3 days
