The Team

Shoosmiths has one of the most active and dynamic corporate teams nationwide, recognized in the top five law firms for volume of UK deals over the last five years. We advise public and private companies, management teams, investors, and debt providers through the entire business lifecycle, including start-up, finance, M&A, management transactions, funding, restructuring, and exits.

Our Belfast team comprises 2 Partners and covers the full range of corporate transactions, with a focus on private equity, VC deals, and mid to large-scale M&A.

The Role

This position offers excellent exposure to high-quality work, working closely with the local legal team and the Belfast corporate partners. You will also collaborate with the wider national corporate team. Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Conducting due diligence
2. Drafting and negotiating documents and reports
3. Reviewing and collating documentation
4. Communicating effectively with clients, external solicitors, and third parties in writing and verbally
5. Coordinating between departments within Shoosmiths
6. Supporting legal advisors with corporate law matters and administrative tasks

• Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients
• Excellent attention to detail in all correspondence and documentation
• Flexibility to adapt to client needs and changing practices, maintaining composure under pressure
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
