Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd in Leicester is seeking an experienced Panel Beater / Vehicle Damage Panel Technician to join their busy bodyshop on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will repair and restore damaged vehicle panels to manufacturer standards, using Celette/Car-O-Liner jig systems and MIG welding, with emphasis on precision and customer service.

The role requires reading schematics, working to ADAS considerations, and carrying out duties with due regard to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a panel beater / vehicle damage panel technician in a Bodyshop environment
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and panel/jig measuring systems
• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of modern vehicle construction
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical/repair method drawings
• Experience with MIG welding, MIG brazing and metal fabrication techniques
• High attention to detail and a consistently low rework rate
• Physical fitness for heavy lifting and prolonged standing/bending

Responsibilities

• Repair and restore damaged vehicle panels to original condition, in line with manufacturer and BS 10125 repair standards
• Remove dents, scratches and other imperfections from vehicle panels
• Use hand and power tools to shape, smooth and finish repaired panels
• Assemble and disassemble vehicle parts and trim as needed for panel repair
• Weld, braze and bond metal and mixed-material components to repair or replace damaged sections
• Work with structural adhesives and modern jointing techniques used on late-model vehicles
• Use jig and measuring systems to restore vehicle geometry to manufacturer specification
• Identify and flag ADAS sensor locations and calibration requirements ahead of paint and reassembly
• Carry out routine equipment repairs and maintenance
• Follow all workshop health & safety procedures and guidelines at all times
• Liaise with estimators/service advisors and provide excellent customer service
