Job summary

Autoskills-Uk in Heywood is hiring a Panel Beater / Panel Technician to restore damaged vehicles to high standards. You will work Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, in a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive basic salary £38,000–£40,000 with an OTE around £45,000+.

The ideal candidate has a recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 in Vehicle Body Repair, proven panel repair experience, and the ability to use body repair tools safely while maintaining quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or Level 3 in Vehicle Body Repair with ongoing professional development.
• Experience as Panel Beater/Panel Technician or Vehicle Body Repair Technician.
• Able to use body repair tools safely and effectively and maintain high-quality repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assess damage and identify repairs required.
• Repair/replace damaged panels and components.
• Use tools to reshape, align and repair panels.
• Carry out structural and cosmetic body repairs to standards.
• Ensure gaps, alignment and fit meet required standards.

THE ROLE

As a Panel Beater / Panel Technician, you'll carry out vehicle body repairs, restoring damaged vehicles to the required structural and cosmetic standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing vehicle damage and identifying the repairs required.
• Repairing and replacing damaged body panels and vehicle components.
• Using appropriate tools and equipment to reshape, align and repair panels.
• Carrying out structural and non-structural body repairs in line with repair procedures.
• Ensuring panel gaps, alignment and fit meet the required standards.
• Working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Following health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised workspace.

ABOUT YOU

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with an ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.
• Previous experience working as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician or Vehicle Body Repair Technician.
• Confident repairing damaged panels and replacing body components.
• Able to use body repair tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality repairs.
• Able to manage workload efficiently while maintaining repair standards.
• Reliable, motivated and comfortable working as part of a team.
