Job summary

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in Bolton is recruiting a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join an innovative community post developing rapid response and Hospital at Home services. The role is predominantly in the community with integrated hospital support and on-call elements to be piloted.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team including senior clinical practitioners, specialist nurses, and a specialty doctor, with opportunities to shape service development and education while maintaining

Qualifications

Primary Medical Qualification MRCP, MRCGP, FRCR or FRCA.
On the Specialist Register in Palliative Medicine or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
Experience in multi-disciplinary Specialist Palliative Care within hospital, community and hospice settings at a senior level.
Experience of teaching and educational supervision.
Leadership skills, including experience managing change and motivating teams.
Engagement with management training.

Responsibilities

Engage, lead and drive changes to prove benefits of expanding the service in a community setting.
Develop and support the team to deliver the 7 day rapid response service and Hospital at Home.
Provide leadership for on-call arrangements and workforce development.
Collaborate with other teams and specialties to enhance palliative care provision.
