A prestigious NHS Trust in Lancashire is seeking a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to provide specialist care across community and hospice settings. Both full-time and part-time options are considered. The role requires GMC registration and involves working with a supportive team in a beautiful rural environment. Excellent transport links to major cities are available.
We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Palliative Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.
Our client are one of the largest providers of healthcare in the area and has a complement of over 930 beds for a local population of 390,000 and a regional population of 1.5 million. The Trust forms one of the major acute Trusts in the North West with all of the usual specialties on site as well as being a Tertiary Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria in the departments of Neurosciences, Oncology, Renal Medicine, major trauma, plastics and burns, specialist mobility and rehabilitation and vascular services.
Our client's Palliative department is being created to support with the planned expansion of 7 day specialist palliative care services hospital and community local palliative care services across hospice, community and hospital settings, which will be supported by an already approved business case.
Our client's location is a unique blend of rural countryside with market towns and rolling fields, alongside shopping and nightlife of a cosmopolitan city, with excellent public and private schools within the catchment area. With motorway and railway links to major cities such as Sheffield, Liverpool and Birmingham and an excellent international airport nearby, this is an excellent location with the best of both worlds.
