Job summary

Heart of Kent Hospice is seeking a part-time Social Worker for Specialist Palliative Care on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Based at the Hospice, you will work with adults and families in the community or on-site, delivering holistic assessments within a multidisciplinary team.

You will need HCPC registration, a Social Work degree, and a driving licence. The role requires flexibility and the ability to manage a varied caseload in a compassionate, values-led culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Current registration with the HCPC.
• Driving licence and access to transport.
• Ability to work under pressure and be flexible.
• Experience with holistic assessments and prioritising caseloads.

Responsibilities

• Work with adults and families facing major life changes, trauma and loss.
• Support groups or individual work with clients at the Hospice and in the community.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including counsellors, welfare, spiritual lead, nursing and medical staff.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusive practice within patient care.
